In [gizmodo.com] the same sentence is repeated twice, "With Hyper-Threading enabled, that's a cool 12 threads at the ready. How could anyone screw that one up?"

It might be a sarcastic joke, but considering the number of other errors I see in the articles, I'm not sure so I'm posting it here.

Sorry to say guys, but the icon system here is just...very slow to respond to change. Was it designed by old lutherans? (hah!)

More to the point, I tried to change my icon a while ago and it appears changed now for my posts, but my profile is still my old one. And now, more recently, I've been attempting to change it yet AGAIN (I know, I know) and it hasn't shown up anywhere. Am I doing it wrong or is it just... #broken Reply

What's up whitenoise. Question: How many people use a bluetooth headset with their mobiles? And if you do use one, which one would you recommend?

Mine got stolen (through my then-closed-but-currently-in-small-pieces-in-some-landfill car window .<) about a year ago and I've been back and forth on whether I need another. Well I've finally decided I'm looking for something now and was wondering what people would recommend.

If it matters I'm on the iPhone.

@nachobel TOTORO!: Their whole catalog in general. I believe they all have their patented noise-shield technology. It's called a Jawbone because it has a microphone that sits against your cheek and senses the vibrations from your mouth. That's what creates the unmatched clarity.

Battery is rated at 6 hours of talk time and 120 standby hours. So I'd say generally you should at least be able to get to a charger in time.

@nachobel TOTORO!: I've tested about 4 different noise cancelling models for use by my mobile services crew - including Jawbone I & II.

The winner was the Motorola HS850. It had very good sound quality, but the biggest differentiator was that it was by far the easiest to use. When the boom is open, it is on and synced to the phone. When the boom is closed, it is off and you talk through the handset.

All the other models required some additional step to turn on/off. Inevitably, what would happen is I would take off my headset during some moment of distraction and next thing you know, an important customer is calling, I answer the cell phone, but the headset is carrying the call in my pocket or bag. A few mumbled cusses later I begin talking to the customer - assuming I could find the headset.

@nachobel TOTORO!: I use a Jawbone II as well, The Noise Assassin is incredible. I really only use it in the car, but I've left it in the car powered on all day on accident. The next day it was still on and worked for another day or two before needing a re-charge. I believe it has an automatic standby mode so that if you're out of range it goes to sleep. I use an iPhone too.

Hey guys,

So the blog I work for (won't tell you the name, don't want to be seen as a spammer, figure it out yourselves) just got Austin Meyer's permission to do an interview.
For those who don't know, Meyer is the creator of X-Plane, Microsoft's main competitor in the flight simulation business.
3 years ago, MS's Flight Simulator was shut down so X-Plane remains the only sim being developed right now, and it's awesome.

Anyway, I thought I'd go to a place with bright, tech oriented minds and ask for ideas. What kind of questions should I ask him?

@FlorianWardell: I've always wondered how those simulators have felt compared to actually flying different aircraft. Perhaps some question on how they gauge this - is it all just based off schematics and physics, or do they actually have people flying them in sim and also in the real world to compare.
